Barack Obama has just become the 44th president of the United States. The number 44 stands for change and transformation. The 4 resonates with structure, security, discipline, stability and responsibility. The 8 is a number of power and greatness. It signifies the ability to achieve success on a global level.

 As we come together to support this new president, it is especially important that we remain attentive both individually and collectively. We must resist the urge to idealize and follow without consciousness. We are responsible for who leads us but we still need to check our own inner compass for truth, often and regularly. This is a time when we are all being asked to grow up. We are becoming full and responsible human beings. We can no longer give away our power and control. We carry the light of truth within us. We are the hero that lies within.

Many of us are questioning our fundamental goals and objectives right now. We are evaluating what is working and what is not. This is a time of great change and growth. It is important when the difficulties seem to outweigh the benefits to take a second look and notice what we are doing that is right. We may not have made that important phone call but we did do the dishes. No matter how seemingly small the accomplishment may be, embrace it. These are called “wins."
